A CBA Motivational Speaking Event & Fundraiser
Dragon Talks is a motivational speaking event and fundraiser benefiting the Carroll Business Academy. The event features headline speakers and CBA student speakers sharing ideas and stories about growth, leadership, and real-world thinking.
Selected students will take the stage to share an idea that matters to them.

Is passion something you’re born with — or something you develop?
Is it a feeling — or something that grows through effort, responsibility, and choice?
Dragon Talks invites CBA students to explore what they care about, how it’s driving them, and how it’s shaping who they’re becoming.

Personal & Story-Driven
- Is there something you really care about?
- How is it motivating or driving you?
- How has it changed the way you think or act?
- What struggles or challenges has it pushed you through?
Reflective & Idea-Based
- Is passion something you’re born with, or something you develop over time?
- What’s the difference between doing something with passion versus without it?
- Can you choose to become passionate about something you didn’t care about at first?
- Why does passion matter in life, leadership, or work?
Growth, Impact & Business-Minded
- How has caring deeply about something helped you grow or improve?
- How has it helped others — or how could it?
- How could something you care about turn into a business idea, service, or opportunity?
- What is this passion or interest driving you to want to do next?
Inspired by Others
- Who is someone you think truly demonstrates passion?
- How can you tell they’re passionate?
- How has their passion inspired or influenced you?
- Why is passion important for business leaders or entrepreneurs?
🎤 What This Looks Like
- Student talks are 7–10 minutes
- Talks are written to be spoken, not read like an essay
- Memorization is not required
- 3-5 speakers selected
- Open to all current CBA students

🏆 Contest & Recognition
Selected student speakers receive:
- A featured speaking role at Dragon Talks
- Official recognition as a Dragon Talks Student Speaker
- A certificate of recognition
- A $100 Visa gift card (or equivalent)
